Be on time.

➤ Know the interviewer’s name, spelling, and pronunciation.

➤ Have some questions of your own prepared in advance.

➤ Bring several copies of your resume.

➤ Have a reliable pen and a small notepad with you.

➤ Greet the interviewer with a handshake and a smile.

➤ Expect to spend some time developing rapport.

➤ Don’t be embarrassed if you are nervous.

➤ Focus on your attributes, your transferable skills, and your willingness to learn

➤ Tell the truth.

➤ Listen carefully to the interviewer.

➤ Never slight a teacher, friend, employer, or university.

➤ Watch your grammar.

➤ Be prepared for personal questions.

➤ Wait for the interviewer to mention salary and benefits.

➤ Don’t expect a job offer at the first interview.

➤ Close on a positive, enthusiastic note.

➤ No interview is complete until you follow up with a thank-you note.



📓 Make a list of descriptive and familiar vocabulary words from your field of employment. By knowing that vocabulary, you show the recruiter that you not only speak English, but you're also able to communicate more effectively in the workplace. Below there are some examples of vocabulary you might encounter in the business world.

⮚ Stakeholders: son las personas impactadas por un negocio en particular / são as pessoas impactadas por um determinado negócio

⮚ Target: palabra utilizada para referirse a los objetivos que se quieren alcanzar / palavra usada para se referir aos objetivos que desejam ser atingidos

⮚ Turnover: rotación de personal / rotatividade de mão de obra

⮚ Gap: espacio que aún necesita ser llenado o área por desarrollar / espaço que ainda precisa ser preenchido ou área a ser desenvolvida

⮚ Brainstorm: Lluvia de ideas: conversación destinada a intercambiar y debatir nuevas ideas; / conversa que tem o objetivo de trocar e debater novas ideias

⮚ Budget: presupuesto empresarial / orçamento empresarial.

➤ Be humble: Humble people know their strengths and weaknesses and aren’t afraid to admit when they need help or don’t know something. Adopting a more humble attitude might just help you advance in your career. 

➤ Provide solutions, not problems: make it safe. Modify your behavior so that people aren't afraid to bring you bad news.

➤ Work in a group: Creativity thrives when people work together on a team.

➤ Help your friends out of awkward situations: Here are five situations you want to avoid at office happy hour so you can come in the next morning feeling refreshed—and not awkward.

PAST SIMPLE OF REGULAR VERBS

Past simple – regular verbs Rule 1: If the verb base ends in a voiceless sound, then the –ed ending sounds like “t”. The “t” is blended together with the previous consonant and NOT PRONOUNCED as an extra syllable. A voiceless sound is like a whisper. Your vocal cords DON'T VIBRATE .
