WAY adverb (EMPHASIS)

👉'Way': used to emphasize degree or separation, especially in space or time:
👉'Way': se usa para enfatizar el grado o la separación, especialmente en el espacio o el tiempo:

Examples:

→ After the third lap, she was behind the other runners. 
More emphasis: After the third lap, she was way behind the other runners. 
Después de la tercera vuelta, estaba muy por detrás de las otras corredoras.
Após a terceira volta, ela ficou bem atrás dos outros corredores.

→ She spends too much money on clothes.

More emphasis: She spends way too much money on clothes.
 Ella gasta demasiado dinero con ropa.
 Ela gasta muito dinheiro com roupas.

→ What do you do too much?
➤ More emphasis: What do you do way too much?
 ¿Qué haces demasiado?

→ I've been spending too much time on this project.

"MAYBE” versus “MAY BE”?

They are often confused because we use them both when we think that something is possible but we are not certain. Maybe as an adverb or as a noun Maybe /ˈmeɪbi/ is an adverb and it means the same as perhaps. It can also be used as a noun.
